Hello, I'm Lai Yi, welcome to my 🍃 website 🍃

• I am currently Head of Cloudflare Radar, Cloudflare's data insights and visualization platform which reports on outages, trends and the technical evolution of the Internet from the perspective of our global network. You can read more about the work on the Cloudflare blog.

• Previously, I led Measurement Lab as Director, Research & Data where I led efforts related to open data, censorship measurement coordination, redefining network quality beyond "speed", and broadband mapping for policy and advocacy.

• I am an adjunct lecturer in the Parsons Design & Technology program at the New School in in New York City, teaching courses related to creative coding, web development and a critical history of statistics and data.

• As an artist my work considers systems and the narratives of their histories. Most recently I've been preoccupied with articulating the lineage of my adoption from China and the ongoing entanglement between the two nations that birthed me. When asked what kind of art I make I say I work across video, performance, text and drawing.
